History

About ten years ago the churches in the Littleover and Blagreaves areas of Derby came together to jointly fund LBCS (Littleover/Blagreaves Churches Schools Work Trust). The aim was to establish a local work that would be able to support schools in their teaching of the Christian/PSE side of the curriculum whilst showing what Christians and the Church are really like and providing a positive role model of Christianity. In 1999 the first LBCS schools worker was appointed. From then on the work began to grow and in 2004 it was felt that the work needed a more recognisable name easily identified by children, staff and parents and so Illuminate was launched as the operating name for LBCS.

Today.

Illuminate is part of LBCS registered Charity 1080940 that works in Infant, Junior, Primary and Secondary schools, taking assemblies, running lunch and after school clubs, church visits and occasionally Saturday Adventure Clubs.
